Winter Weather Advisory From NWS
A winter weather advisory is now in effect until 1 p.m. according to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana for Kosciusko, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley, Wabash counties along with Noble, DeKalb, Stark, Pulaski, Allen, White, Cass, Miami, Hunting, Wells, Adams, Grant counties.
Freezing rain will spread across the area this morning with ice accumulations around one-tenth of an inch possible. There will be periods of light snow and sleet possible before becoming all freezing rains.
As temperatures warm above freezing by late morning or early afternoon, icing will end.
Roads, overpasses and intersections will be icy and dangerous. Sidewalks and driveways will also be icy and dangerous.
A winter weather advisory means periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Motorist should be prepared for dangerous driving conditions and limited visibility. Extra caution should be used while driving.
Looking ahead wind chill temperatures Wednesday night and Thursday night are expected to drop to between 5 degrees below zero and 15 degrees below zero.
