Larry Snyder
Larry Snyder, 52, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 4, 2015 in Ft. Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne on Jan. 4, 1963 to Denzel and Mary Ann (Archer) Snyder.
He attended St. John Baptist school in New Haven through the 8th grade. He then moved to the North Webster area where he attended Wawasee High School. He went on to enlist in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was part of the Special Operations Air Search and Rescue.
He attended college while in the service specializing in Metallurgy. After being honorably discharged, he became active in the United States Auto Club, where he used his expertise as a metallurgist at the INDY 500 inspecting the rims of the race cars for several years. He worked at Zimmer in the late 1980′s doing non-destructive testing.He enjoyed scuba and skydiving, boating, and fishing.
He was a big fan of Bob Knight and IU Basketball. He is survived by his daughter: Adrianna “Annie” Snyder; His parents: Denzel and Mary Ann(Tyler) Archer; Siblings: Terrance “Terry” (Jutta) Snyder, Elizabeth “Lisa” (Chuck) Miller, Kevin (Lori) Archer, and Kenny (Jamie) Archer; Several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded by his father Neil Snyder.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, at the funeral home with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will follow at the North Webster cemetery / Mock Addition with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s food kitchen, or the Shriners Childrens Hospita
