One highlight of this week is the Annual WLW Breakfast, held from 6:50 a.m. until 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 17 in the WCHS Black Box. World Language students will be able to sample a variety of cultural cuisine including Chinese, Hispanic, French, Italian, German, Indian, Korean, Polish and American dishes. The WLW Breakfast will be served by WCS World Language teachers in partnership with members of community organizations including Peking Restaurant, OrthoWorx, DePuy and Grace College.
Another highlight of this week is the Second Annual WLW Fair also held in the WCHS Career Center Gym on Friday, March 20, during first, third, fourth, and sixth periods. Students will engage themselves in hands-on cultural activities led by WCHS World Language teachers and community members.
Activities will include: Japanese origami, French painting, German crafts, bocce ball, mosaic making, Chinese games, Hispanic dancing, and a chance for students to model cultural garments from a vast array of cultures. The week will also be celebrated with daily announcements and an international literary display by the WCHS Media Center. The WCHS World Language Department is anticipating an enjoyable week, and hopes to equip its students with a greater understanding and appreciation of World Languages and cultures.
