‘The Paper Cuts’ Win Trivia Contest
“The Paper Cuts,” the team sponsored by The Papers, Inc., came out victorious in the annual Wawasee Kiwanis trivia contest, held March 5 at the Syracuse Community Center.
Scoring 118 points out of a possible 162 points, the team comprised of Angie Deak, Mike Deak, David Hazledine and Keith Knepp bested the next best entry by four points.
The Knights of Columbus sponsored the second place team, “The Knights of the Round Table,” which was comprised of team members Mike Delucenay, Don Bokhart, Tim Frey and Nick Goralczyk. The team also finished in first place among the team subcategory of service organizations.
The 16 questions posed to the 24 participating teams ranged from sports to science to geography and everything in between. Added in were four bonus questions that allowed teams extra points with varying degrees of value.
Finishing in third overall place with 113 points was “Tapped Out,” featuring team members Aaron Tatman, Lindsey Richardson, Eric Richardson and Andy Tatman.
The second place team among the service organizations was “At Least We’re Pretty,” who also was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
Winning team members were each awarded prizes donated by area restaurants and merchants. Proceeds from the entry fees for the event will benefit the Shrock Athletic Complex, Riley Children’s Hospital and other youth oriented charities sponsored by the Wawasee Kiwanis Club.
