UPDATE: Accident On Parker Street And US 30
Update: Emergency personnel responded to an accident located on Parker Street and US 30 at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday, March 11.
According to an accident report filed by officials, two individuals sustained minor injuries in the crash. Robert L. Dust, 85, of South Lakeside Drive, Syracuse, suffered a contusion/bruise to the chest, and passenger Dorothy J. Baker, 89, of East Sunrise Drive, Syracuse, also suffered a contusion/bruise to the chest.
According to the accident report, Dust was driving west on North Parker Street and had a green light at the intersection. Dust stopped at the light and proceeded to make his right turn. Dust stated the next thing he remembered was hitting the trailer of a freight liner driven by Kingsley K. Ohene, 51, of Omega Drive, Cleveland. Ohene was uninjured in the crash.
Ohene stated he was northbound on Lake Street and he had the green light. As he approached the intersection, Dust reportedly disregarded the red light and made a right turn into Ohene’s lane. Though Ohene attempted to move his vehicle, he could not avoid the collision. A witness driving behind Dust stated Dust had the red light at the intersection at the time of the accident.
Damages are estimated up to $25,000
Initial Report: Two individuals were reportedly injured in the crash though injuries are believed to be minor. The westbound lane of traffic is slowed due to the crash and one lane will be opening shortly.
