A donation from the MutualBank Charitable Foundation to create a Community Fund at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation will be matched dollar for dollar as part of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative.
MutualBank representatives recently presented a check for $12,500 to the Community Foundation to establish the MutualBank Charitable Foundation Fund. This fund will help meet needs in Kosciusko County as directed by the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors.
“This gift will enable the Community Foundation to meet diverse needs throughout our community,” said Suzie Light, Executive Director of the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. “Grants from the MutualBank Charitable Foundation Fund will provide support for human services, arts and culture, recreation, education, the environment, civic projects and health. And, because the fund is endowed, MutualBank’s support will continue, forever.”
As part of their 125th anniversary celebration, the bank has given back to the community, including Phase I of their celebration, the BetterLife Awards, recognizing individuals for their service to their communities. Award winners got to choose which nonprofit organization would receive a grant from MutualBank Charitable Foundation in their honor. For Phase II of their celebration, MutualBank Charitable Foundation divided $125,000 among the Community Foundations in the counties served by MutualBank.
“Our support of Community Foundations is pretty important to the bank,” said Vice President and Regional Manager for MutualBank Vince Turner, “The bank is committed not only to financial support but also community leadership as our team members serve on nonprofit boards and volunteer to meet community needs.”
