Pilots Sidelined In NAIA Tourney
Point Lookout, MO – The Bethel College men’s basketball team bid farewell to the senior class of Matt Schauss and Zach Miller as the Pilots fell in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament Thursday to Ashford University (IA) 83-57.
Zach Miller tried to pick up the heavy load in Schauss’ absence with a team-high 16 points.The 6-1 guard would finish just six points shy of the 2,000th career point plateau. Schauss missed the game after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the Crossroads League tournament.
Freshman Chris Mitchell added 12 points while sophomore Clay Yeo, who fouled out, added 10.
Turnovers played a major factor in the contest as BC was responsible for 17 miscues while Ashford had 10 turnovers.
The Pilots end the season with a record of 27-7.
