There are three upcoming events at Lakeland Christian Academy.
Open House
From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, come learn more about Lakeland Christian Academy at our open house. Our home is your home as we invite you to tour our 40-acre campus and meet with our teachers, staff, and parents.
You will also be able to talk with our students to find out what life is like at LCA. Administrators will be on hand to inform you of the enrollment process and financial aid programs including scholarships and the school voucher program.
This Open House is open to anyone in our community. Print and bring in this article for free registration for new families that attend our Open House.
Visitation Days at LCA
Sixth grade visitation day is from 8 a.m. until 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 1. Our first visitation day is for current 6th grade students.
The transition from elementary school to middle school is one of the most important periods of your child’s life. This is where they leave the elementary school “nest” and join the “flock” of local adolescents. They will leave the comfort of being with the same teacher and 20 or so students in the same classroom all day to middle school, where they will be required to change classrooms and teachers each period while interacting with students from various grade levels.
Middle school students are very impressionable and this time will greatly influence not only their academic life but also their emotional, social, mental, and spiritual lives. They will be forming their inner self-esteem and their worldview. This period is critical in their overall development.
From 8 a.m. until 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, is the visitation day for seventh through 11th grade. Another very important period in your child’s life is the high school grade years.
This is when they grow from adolescents to adults. At Lakeland Christian Academy we feel that with our small size, our family oriented environment, our caring Christian teachers, our excellent academics, and our Christian worldview, we are equipped to give your child an excellent foundation for success in all areas of life.
Also at LCA your child will have the opportunity to participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities that they might not be able to at a larger school.
Now we understand that parents may be concerned about sending their children into a different setting for a whole day without really knowing anyone. For this reason, they will be matched up with a student from their closest grade level to be their “buddy” throughout the day.
Starting at 8 a.m. your child’s buddy will take them to class, introduce them to other students, attend a chapel service, have a free pizza lunch and more. Parents will also have the opportunity to attend chapel as well as attend a special parent meeting to find out more about LCA.
Our administrative team will be available all day to answer any, and all questions.
We are excited about these three special days at LCA and we look forward to meeting you and your child.
We are now open for enrollment for the 2015-16 school year. If you have any questions, contact Scott Wiley at (574) 267-7265 or by email at [email protected].
