Toll Road Construction Will Close Ramp For Three Months
Anyone traveling the Indiana Toll Road and wanting to get on or off at Lake Station this summer will find the ramps closed due to major construction, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Beginning March 30, the westbound ramp at Exit 21, Lake Station interchange, will be closed for 13 weeks to rebuild three structures in the interchange. The closure is part of an ongoing rehabilitation project which began in Oct. 2013.
The construction will also fully close the westbound entry ramp from I-80/94 onto the toll road until approximately June 29, while an existing bridge is torn down and reconstructed.
The detour route will be I-80/94 to I-65 North, entering the Indiana Toll Road at Exit 17, Gary East.
