Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:45 p.m. Sunday, March 22, East CR 1300N, east of North Warner Road, Syracuse. Driver: Joshua R. Olejniczak, 16, North Sir Lancelot Lane, Cromwell. Olejniczak reported a flock of turkeys crossed his path resulting in him leaving the roadway and crashing. Olejniczak was cited for operating a vehicle while never being licensed. Damage up to $10,000.
10:36 a.m. Sunday, March 22, East Gault Street, east of North CR 650W, Atwood. Driver: Blake L. Lamb, 17, West CR 550N, Warsaw. Lamb swerved to miss a deer, went off the road into a ditch. Damage up to $5,000.
4:40 a.m. Sunday, March 22, Packerton Road, south of East Elm Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Alexis M. Lepley, 27, North Wayne Street, North Manchester, Lepley fell asleep while driving, went off the road into a wooded area hitting several small trees. The vehicle stopped against a large tree. Damage up to $5,000.
11:23 p.m. Saturday, March 21, North CR 175E, south of EMS C24 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Lindsey M. Tomblin, 51, EMS D18B Lane, Syracuse. Tomblin’s vehicle struck loose gravel causing his vehicle to go off the road and into trees. Damage up to $10,000.
8:52 p.m. Saturday, March 21, North CR 650W, south of West CR 100N, Warsaw. Driver: Drake A. Sparkman, 18, South SR 25, Mentone. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:57 p.m. Saturday, March 21, East CR 300N, west of CR 100E, Warsaw. Driver: Tyler P. Murphy, 17, East Deerwood Court, Warsaw. Hit deer. Damage to $2,500.
12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, South SR 25, east of South CR 1000W, Mentone: Driver: Andrea L. Melton, 23, Massachusetts Ave., Logansport, and James L. Bolling, 58, West SR 25, Mentone. Melton drove her vehicle from a parking lot in front of the Boling vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
2:08 a.m. Saturday, March 21, East CR 700N, west of North CR 300E. Warsaw. Driver: Taylor E. Laughlin, 17, East Seventh Street, North Manchester. Taylor was unable to make a turn onto CR 700E, hitting the guardrail. The vehicle went down an embankment. DamageĀ up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
5:31 p.m. Saturday, March 21, North Hickory Street and East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Tina M. Nordman, 37, South Fayne Lane, Claypool, and Courtney M. Haskins, 24, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Nordman was waived into traffic by another motorist, failing to see the Haskins vehicle in a turn lane. Damage up to $2,500.
