Go Back To The Future With First Friday
Great Scott! It’s almost the end of March, and you know what that means: another First Friday celebration is nearly upon us. That’s heavy.
The theme for the April First Friday event is Back To The Future. Organizers have set up a few activities to give patrons a blast from the past.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. at Center Stage, Russ Weed will perform the songs of Rat Pack crooners Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Following the music, settle in for a movie in the plaza.
“Back To The Future 2” will be shown on the courthouse lawn. The epic 80s sci-fi/comedy rolls at 7:45 p.m. Those who want to watch the movie are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the show.
Gateway is sponsoring an old fashioned Easter egg hunt on the courthouse lawn. Orthoworx will be celebrating the Persian new year at its diversity tent. Foreign language films will be shown, and there will be craft activities.
Additionally, the deadline for the Bike Into The Bicentennial display is fast approaching. Much like the Seward Johnson Walk-N-Wander exhibit last year, organizers want to decorate downtown Warsaw with decorative bikes. Bicycles, tricycles – basically anything with wheels and pedals – can be creatively decorated and donated for display between May 1 and October. Bikes should have a family friendly theme and be weather proof.
To sponsor a decorative bike contact Paula Bowman at (574) 376-0233. Applications are due by April 20.
The First Friday celebration will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 3.
