Donald Havens
Donald Havens, age 65, of Nappanee, died at 12:06 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at his residence after a short illness. He was born Dec. 12, 1949 in Ezel, Ky. to Clayton and Daisy (Murphy) Havens.
Mr. Havens moved to this area in 1955. He married Sue Blosser July 10, 1997 in Westville, Ind.
Donald loved wolves and enjoyed Nascar racing. His favorite driver was Kyle Busch. He had worked in area trailer factories and raised rabbits.
Surviving is his wife: Sue; a son: Donnie Ray (Sunday) Havens II, South Bend; daughters: Teresa (David) Schmidt, Plymouth; Kimberly (Don) Brown, Niles, Mich.; stepsons: Chad (Jennifer) Hochstetler, South Bend; James (Bianca) Hochstetler; Jereme (Ashley) Hochstetler, both of Nappanee; a stepdaughter: Lisa Hochstetler, Nappanee; 25 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers: Billy Joe (Shirley) Havens, Millersburg; Jim (Nancy) Havens, Elkhart; Mike (Cheryl) Havens, Milford; sisters, Betty (Phil- deceased) Ebey, Wolcolttvile; Ruth (Phil) Hamilton, Elkhart; and sister-in-law: Kay Havens, Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Mikila Lyn Hochstetler; and brothers, Ralph Havens and Clayton Havens Jr.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at First Church of God in Nappanee. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. Rev. Sam Bennett will officiate and burial will be in Yellow Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Hospice or Nappanee Elementary School.
