Two Area Residents Receive Degrees From WGU
Two area residents received degrees from Western Governors University at its 28th semi-annual commencement ceremony Feb. 7 in Orlando, Fla. WGU
celebrated the graduation of more than 6,700 students.
The university awarded 4,071 undergraduate and 2,657 graduate degrees in
business, information technology, K-12 teacher education and health care
professions including nursing. Graduates reside in all 50 states, the
District of Columbia, as well as Armed Forces personnel stationed
overseas.
Mark Fishburn, Leesburg, received a Bachelor of Science degree in
information technology and Melissa Jimenez, Pierceton, received a Master of Business Administration degree in health care management.
Chairman and CEO of Capella Hotel Group, Horst Schulze, delivered the
commencement address. Students who were not able to attend the ceremony in
person were able to watch the event via live video stream on the WGU
website.
