Warsaw Softball Team Drops Opener
WARSAW – A fast start carried South Bend Riley past Warsaw Monday in prep softball action.
The Wildcats scored five runs in each of the first two innings en route to topping the Tigers 18-2 in five innings.
Warsaw, making its season debut under new head coach Kevin Dishman, was outhit 19-5 in the contest.
Sarah Shoemaker had a double and Heather Cox a hit and a run scored to lead the way for Warsaw.
Abby Glass took the pitching loss for the Tigers.
Riley had a pair of homers in the win.
Warsaw (0-1) will host Mishawaka Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Tigers are then off for Spring Break until hosting East Noble on April 14.
