Memory Making Mondays

Memory Making Monday will meet on April 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the library meeting room. Melinda Roose will be showing us new scrapbooking techniques we can use. For more details, call Melinda Roose at (574) 658-9157.

Spring Lapsit

Join Miss Malea for the first week of Lapsit! Lapsit is intended for babies, from infant-36 months and lasts a total of four sessions. Our theme is Bugs! Come and listen to books, songs, and fingerplays about bugs. We will sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and read Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! by Bob Barner. Lapst is at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. See you this week for Lapsit at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 for the first session! If you have children who would like to be part of Lapsit, you can call (574) 658-4312 or come in and register at the desk in the Children’s Department.

Spring Story Time

Join Miss Malea for Spring Story Time this week at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, or 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9. Listen to Owen’s Marshmallow Chick by Kevin Henkes and Minerva Louise and the Colorful Eggs by Jane Morgan Stoeke. After listening to stories, we will decorate our very own Easter egg baskets and participate in an Easter egg hunt around the children’s department. After we have collected all the eggs, enjoy a snack of a bunny in a twinkie car made out of a twinkie, a blue bunny peep, a pretzel, 2 large marshmallows, and 4 mini M&Ms. We will put the twinkie car together and enjoy it as our snack. If you have not signed your child up for story time and would like to come, call us at (574) 658-4312 or come in and get them signed up. See you on Wednesday, April 8 or Thursday, April 9 for Easter Story Time.

Knitting Club

Knitting Club is meeting from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 10 in the teen area of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. The knitting club meets on the second and third Friday of this month due to Good Friday. Come and learn how to make a blanket or scarf.

LEGO Crew

Drop by from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 11 and create with LEGO building blocks! We provide the LEGOs, you provide your creativity and imagination. Children ages 5 and up, accompanied by an adult are welcome to join the fun. Call (574) 658-4312 if you have any questions. Spread the word and bring your friends!

Friends of the Library

Do you have lots of books sitting around, cluttering your house? Why not donate them to the library for others to buy and read! The Friends of the Library welcomes all your donations of gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and sheet music. Feel free to go through our collection and purchase a few things as well. All proceeds go back to the library. The Friends next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 7 at 1pm in the library meeting room. The Friends are also selling cloth book bags for $12.00. Come in and purchase a bag at the circulation desk upstairs and support your local library. Look for more details in future articles about the upcoming book sale in May at Milford Fest.
