Pair Of 5Ks On The Horizon
WINONA LAKE – Runners likely didn’t take the winter off, but now that the snow is (hopefully) gone, 5Ks are starting to hit the streets around the area.
The second annual Kosciusko Cares 5K run/walk is scheduled for this Saturday, April 11, at Winona Lake Park on the banks of Winona Lake. Pre-registration expired in March, but raceday registration will be taken from 8-8:41 a.m. at the park pavilion.
Raceday fee is $25 for adults (18-plus), $15 for youth (9-17) and families of three or more are $45. Proceeds from the race will go to Kosciusko Cares, a division of the Kosciusko Cares Community Fund along with the Otis R. Bowen Center.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female as well as age group winners, which start at nine-and-under and work all the way up to 70-plus.
The race will be monitored by the Kosciusko Runners Association, with results available following the race at www.runkra.com.
