WCS Referendum Discussion In Atwood
At 7:15 p.m. Monday, April 13, Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent David Hoffert will make another presentation regarding the school corporation’s proposed referendum to fund a new Lincoln Elementary School, and renovate Washington Elementary School and Edgewood Elementary School.
A 2012 study of WCS’s facilities determined that those school had issues that need addressed. To fund the construction and renovations a property tax referendum, which will be on the May 5 ballot, has been drafted.
This would result in a slight hike in some taxes. Agriculture would be taxed $3.34 per acre, homeowners would be taxed at 13.8 cents per $100 of net assessed value and commercial business would be taxed 13.8 cents per $100 of gross assessed value.
The presentation and discussion, hosted by the Atwood Lions Club, will be held at the Atwood Community Building. Everyone is welcome to attend.
