Detroit Street Accident Still Under Investigation
An accident at 2:25 p.m. Sunday at Detroit Street and Anchorage Road remains under investigation by Warsaw City Police.
Three people were injured in the accident and transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Injured were James Britt, 32, Warsaw, suffering from a back injury; and Megan Slone, 25, Milford, and Cody Hale, 26, North Webster, injuries unknown.
Warsaw Police Lt. Kip Shuter reports Anthony Click,45, Warsaw, was operating a Jeep northbound on Detroit Street, and went through the intersection as the light was changing from green to yellow. A 2000 gold Chrysler, driver unknown, was southbound and going to turn left. Britt, Slone and Hale were occupants of that vehicle and told police it was believed the Jeep would stop when the light changed.
The impact caused the Chrysler to roll and took out the traffic signal control box. The traffic light at the intersection was out for several hours. Authorities also found the occupants of the Chrysler had dumped methamphetamine paraphernalia into the creek. Police did recover the paraphernalia.
Damage has been estimated up to $50,000.
