Arthor ‘Flying High,’ Presenting Talk Friday
By JUDY FLEMING
Local children’s author, Rowena Womack, is flying high. That’s because two of her books, “Popcorn” and “Yellowstone Moose” have been selected by Southwest Airlines eBook content provider, JetBooks, for their new in-flight eBook catalog.
The Southwest Airlines eBook store has recently finished beta testing and is scheduled to go fleet wide on Friday, April 17, just a few days after Womack’s 83 birthday. In addition, Womack will be giving a talk at the Warsaw Noon Optimist Club on Friday, April 17, and will sign copies of her children’s books afterward.
The event will run from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. and is held at the Warsaw Comfort Inn. Admission is free.
As a passenger, perusing the new and improved version of a sky mall on your phone, tablet or laptop, is easy and eye-catching. The catalog offers 130 available eBook titles populated with the likes of Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson. JetBooks was missing a key ingredient, illustrated children’s books. Womack’s publisher, Wee Creek Press, was contacted and the rest is history.
