The Indiana State Museum will bestow its most prestigious Heritage Keeper Award to former First Lady Judy O’Bannon at the annual Tribute Dinner on Tuesday, May 12, at the Indiana State Museum.
“This year we are excited to celebrate Judy O’Bannon, one of Indiana’s best and brightest ambassadors and most enlightening spirits when it comes to matters of community,” said Indiana State Museum President and CEO Tom King.
The award is given to Indiana’s greatest ambassadors for their embodiment of the Hoosier spirit in their accomplishments, leadership and service to the state. O’Bannon will be the fifth honoree, following Rabbi Sandy Sasso in 2014, Senator Richard Lugar in 2013, Earle Goode in 2012 and the Hulman-George Family in 2011.
“The dinner is our signature fundraising event. Proceeds from the event allow us to develop high quality exhibitions and dynamic programming for visitors and students around the state, while recognizing Indiana’s most illustrious citizens and leaders,” King added.
The event will begin with a VIP Reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The awards program will take place immediately following.
This year’s honorary chair is First Lady Karen Pence.
