Whitko Sports Wrap – April 15
Tori Silveus led the way as the Whitko softball team rolled past West Noble Wednesday evening.
Silveus fired a one-hitter in the circle as the host Wildcats bested the Chargers 11-1 in six innings.
Silveus, along with Hanna Yohe and Emily Hughes, also led the way for the winning offense for the Wildcats.
Whitko hosts Columbia City Friday.
Baseball Team Falls To Norwell
The Whitko baseball team dropped a 13-5 final to Norwell at home Wednesday.
A seven-run fourth inning was the difference in the contest for Norwell, which had 13 hits in the win.
Norwell had six extra base hits in the contest, including a pair of home runs.
Landen Goff led the offense for Whitko by going 2-4 with a double. Garrett Smiley was also 2-4 for the Wildcats.
Tanner Gaff took the pitching loss for Whitko.
James Spera had a homer and three RBI for Norwell, Quentin Middleton went 3-5 with three runs scored for the winners.
Whitko, now 4-4, will play at Peru on Tuesday.
JV Baseball Team Victorious
The Whitko junior varsity baseball team posted an 11-9 win at Garrett Wednesday.
The quartet of Nic Rose, Austin Hollowell, Cory Hersha and Brandon Fugate each had two hits to pace the winners.
Bailey Platt notched the pitching win for Whitko.
Whitko plays at Wabash Saturday at 11 a.m.
