John Frank Kincaid
John Frank Kincaid, 80, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at his home.
Born Oct. 31, 1934, in Primrose, Ky., he was the son of Edgar and Effie (Fletcher) Kincaid.
He grew up in Kentucky until the age of 14 and then moved with his family to Noble County. He served in the U.S. Army and during this time on Oct. 31, 1959, John married Nancy Elizabeth Frain and the two have lived in Whitley County since. He worked at Dana Weatherhead in Columbia City for 32 years, retiring in 1988. John was a member of Ormas Baptist Church where he had been a Deacon and former member of Community Bible Church in Columbia City where he also had been a Financial Secretary of the church and a past Deacon and Trustee.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Nancy Kincaid; sons: Dean Alan (Jo) Kincaid, Columbia City; Steven Lee (Paula) Kincaid, South Whitley; brothers: Billy (Shannon) Kincaid, Beatyville; Robert Joseph (Barbara) Kincaid, Asheboro, N.C.; sister: Eunice Sheckler, Columbia City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Gracie Mathias, Sara Clark and Hazel Hollon Richards; and brothers: Bradford Hollon, Marion Kincaid, Millard Kincaid, Melvin Kincaid and Edgar Blaine Kincaid Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 20, at DeMoney-Grimes, a life story funeral home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the funeral home with Pastors John Cummings and Curtiss Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be given in Kincaid’s memory to Lakeland Child Evangelism Ministries or Ormas Baptist Church.
