Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, East CR 225S and South Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Holly A. Ilada, 43, East CR 600S, Claypool,and Sarah G. Marsh, 35, Southfield Road, WInona Lake. Marsh complained of pain to the elbow/lower arm. Passengers in the Ilada vehicle: Jarod Ilada, 12, South CR 275E, Warsaw, complained of pain to his entire body; and Maya Ilada, 10, South CR 275E, Warsaw, complained of pain to her neck. The injured were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Ilada passed the Marsh driven school bus in a no passing zone, as the bus was making a left turn, causing the two vehicles to collide. Ilada lost control of her vehicle after impact, went off the road and collided with a tree. There were 16 children on the school bus, but were not injured. Damage up to $50,000.
4:29 p.m. Monday, April 20, East SR 14 and South SR 13, Warsaw. Driver: Drew J. Dobbins, 22, West CR 950S, Silver Lake. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
5:56 a.m. Friday, April 17, North CR 300E, north of East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Driver: Branden L. Stanley, 21, North CR 350W, Columbia City. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
12 p.m. Saturday, April 18, South Main Street, North Webster. Drivers: Ken R. Brennan, 64, College Avenue, Huntington, and Diane L. Gardner, 74, West 82nd Court, Crown Point. Brennan backed his vehicle to avoid being hit by another vehicle, backing into the Gardner vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:50 p.m. Monday, April 20, 212 S. Edgewater Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Michael W. Tolson, 47, Edgewater Avenue, Syracuse. Parked vehicle registered to Ashley N. Sarber, Edgewater Avenue, Syracuse. Tolson was backing out of his driveway and turned too soon hitting a parked vehicle registered to Ashley N. Sarber, Edgewater Avenue, Syracuse. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:43 p.m. Saturday, April 18, East Main Street and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert W. Christie, 87, Scenic Drive, Muskegon, Mich., and Damen K. Lowery, 18, North Arbutus Trail, Warsaw. Christie was southbound on 15 and Lowery was westbound on Main Street when both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, colliding. Damage up to $10,000.
