Charlene Heintzelman
Charlene Heintzelman, 79, Cromwell, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM at IU Health in Goshen.
She was born on Nov. 26, 1935, in Elkhart to Dr. Russel and Hazel (Irey) Horn. On April 23, 1955, she married Roger Heintzelman in Topeka, Ind.
Charlene was a lifelong area resident. She owned and operated Heintzelman’s Grocery in Cromwell. She was a member of the Topeka Baptist Church. Charlene enjoyed gardening, animals, and was a member of Stone’s Trace Historical Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and wintering in Florida.
She is survived by her husband: Roger; her sons: Jim (Fran) Heintzelman and Jeff ( Darla) Heintzelman, both of Cromwell; six grandchildren: Heather (Jason) Shearer, Andrew Heintzelman, Mary (Brandon) Kiser, Bradley Heintzelman, Tyler Heintzelman, Logan Heintzelman; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Rodney Heintzelman; seven siblings, Jim Horn, Joe Horn, Charles Horn, Wilma Bentley, Martha Wyatt, Barbara Caple, Beverly Renkenberger.
A memorial service will be held in Mrs. Heintzelman’s honor at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767, with Pastor Joey Nelson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home.
