Vote Yes For Proposed WCS Improvements
Dear Editor,
My wife and I are the parents of five boys. We are very glad to have our oldest three boys attend Lincoln Elementary School. The teachers there are excellent, and we are thankful for the influence they have had on our children. As parents, we seek to be actively involved at Lincoln, and have come to appreciate the very special Lincoln family. We love Lincoln Elementary.
There is one thing, however, that we don’t love about Lincoln: the building. The safety and health concerns and inconveniences have been well-documented, and I won’t rehash them all here. But we have personally seen some of the limitations and problems that come with such an outdated facility. A school is certainly more than a building, but it is not less than a building. The current facility limits our kids and our teachers in their pursuit of excellence in the classroom. Lincoln is a great school, with a bad building. It’s time Lincoln Elementary had a building that matches the high quality and caliber of its faculty.
For the sake of our kids; for the sake of the teachers who give themselves for our kids; for the good of our community, I hope the citizens of Warsaw will come out on May 5 and vote yes for the referendum to fund the proposed improvements to Lincoln, and Washington and Edgewood, which have their own significant needs. I’m willing to pay a little extra property tax to make this happen and I hope you are too.
