Who Can Vote May 5
Just who can and cannot vote in the upcoming primary on May 5?
Ann Torpy, Kosciusko Clerk of the Circuit Court, provides an explanation.
Registered voters, who reside within the city of Warsaw, will vote for city offices that include the mayor, clerk-treasurer, city common council at-large and city common council district 1 through 5.
Registered voters, who reside within the Warsaw Community School Corp. will also participate in the upcoming primary/special election. This includes residents of Clay, Lake, Plain, Prairie and Wayne townships, including the city of Warsaw. These residents will vote on the following public question:
“Shall Warsaw Community Schools issue bonds or enter into a lease to finance the construction of a replacement Lincoln Elementary School, the renovation of and improvements to the Washington Elementary School and Edgewood Middle School, which is estimated to cost not more than $39,900,000 and is estimated to increase the property tax rate for debt service by a maximum of $0.138 per $100 of assessed valuation over the 20 year life of the bonds?”
Polling locations can be found on the county website at www.kcgov.com or www.indianavoteres.com. InkFreeNews.com will also have a listing of polling locations the day prior to the election. Some polling locations have been consolidated and locations changed temporarily for this election only.
