No Injuries Or Threats At Manchester University
An all-clear was issued just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday at Manchester University after a lockdown was issued several hours earlier.
According to reports from WANE.com university police searched the campus for a potentially armed suspect. No injuries or threats were found.
North Manchester Police Chief Jeffrey Perry told NewsChannel 15 that police received a call Friday evening from a man who said he stabbed his roommate. Police continued to talk with the caller who went on to say that he also had a shotgun and a bomb with him in the university’s Administration Building.
Police searched the building but found no evidence that supported what the caller said.
At approximately 1:35 a.m., police began searching every building on campus. They asked students to remain where they were until police arrived. Police also asked students if they knew what happened and worked on tracing the initial phone call.
The university thanked the community in a tweet early Saturday morning.
