Ronald Lee DeLucca
Ronald Lee DeLucca, 55, of rural Columbia City, died Wednesday, April 29, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born August 5, 1959, in Pequannock Township, Morris County, New Jersey, a son of the late John, Jr. and Geneva B. (Engel) DeLucca. At age 8, the family moved to Peru. He graduated from Peru High School. He then completed auto mechanic vocational training.
In March of 1978, he entered the U.S. Army. He was released to the Army National Guard where he served 12 years.
He began his work career with Pike Lumber in Akron for 10 years, then Mavron, Warsaw, Dalton Foundry, Kendallville for 12 years and for the last several years, maintenance for Miami Village Trailer Park.
On Sept. 4, 2014, he was united in marriage to Ginger R. Rex. They made their home at Miami Village.
He is survived by his wife: Ginger; two sons: Ronald DeLucca Jr.; and Brandon (Rachel Thompson) DeLucca, Fort Wayne; a granddaughter: Natalie DeLucca; brothers: John (Pat) DeLucca; and Ray (Sandy) DeLucca, both of Peru; and sisters: Joyce (Jeff) Tanner; and Michelle (Fred) Claudill, both of Peru.
He was preceded in death by a son: Cody DeLucca.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to final expenses care of the family.
