ATC Grants Renewals To O&A and Sleepy Owl
At the May 7 meeting of the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, two renewals with violations were approved.
Oak & Alley, located in Warsaw, and the Sleepy Owl in Syracuse both were up for renewal with violations. Both businesses served a minor who accompanied an excise officer into the establishments.
Dave Gustafson, owner of Oak & Alley, appeared before the commission and reported that the fine has been paid, and that the staff has since been trained to check every customer’s ID. He noted that the establishment has had its license since 2011 and this is its only violation.
Chip Erwin, who is in charge of training at the Sleep Owl, appeared before the commission. Similarly to O&A, a minor accompanied by an excise officer was served. Erwin reported that the entire staff has since been retrained. “Our staff should know better,” he said.
Both establishments were granted renewal.
Additionally, Rex’s Rendezvous, King’s Keg, South Shore Golf Club and Wilby’s Gas and Goodies were granted renewals. None of these establishments had violations.
