K21 Awards Grant To Lake City BMX Club
K21 has awarded a grant of $47,461 to allow the Lake City BMX Club to make needed improvements to the track at Hire Park in Warsaw, as well as purchase a new state-of-the-art starting gate for BMX races.
“K21 is committed to helping our community offer a variety of physical fitness activities,” said Rich Haddad, K21 president and CEO. “We realize that more traditional sports like baseball or football don’t appeal to everyone so we are excited that our grant will help Lake City BMX Club to renovate the Hire Park track and bring more attention to BMX biking.”
Track renovations are currently underway in anticipation of the beginning of the 2015 racing season. Riders of all ages have competed in sanctioned races at the park for 30 years.
“With these improvements we are able to bring Hire Park to the level expected of an Olympic sport,” said Dan Rumple, track operator. “We hope that more people within the community will come and see what BMX is all about, and maybe even give the track a try themselves. Young or old; all abilities, everyone is welcome. We offer new rider clinics and loaner equipment, if needed. We would love to see more of Kosciusko there!”
