Dale Eugene Pugh
Dale Eugene Pugh, 68, Rochester, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1946 in Peru, the son of Paul Roscoe and Clara Lucille (Deeds) Pugh. On Feb. 4, 1984 in Rochester, Indiana, he married Janice E. Thousand. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2015.
Dale had worked for NIPSCO for twenty four years as a station operator retiring in 1999. He previously worked for Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo, Indiana for eleven years and was also a farmer for many years. He was a member of the Rochester Masonic Lodge #79, 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite, South Bend, Indiana, Rochester Order of the Eastern Star, United Steel Workers and the Grace United Methodist Church. Throughout his life, he enjoyed volunteering as a little league baseball coach, delivering Meals on Wheels, volunteering with Manitou Monster Triathlon and Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center and spending time with his family. He is remembered as a dedicated Rochester High School Zebras fan, attending numerous sporting events over the years. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame and Pacers fan and lately a dedicated bicyclist, cycling all over Rochester with his faithful black lab “Bubba” running along the side.
Survivors include his daughter: Kelli R. (Seth) Nevins, New Whiteland; sons: Kevin Dale (Jill) Pugh, Rochester; Shannon (Fiance Tina D. Hensley) Pugh, Rochester; Travis (Becky) Pugh, Argos; step-sons: Drew Foreman; Macy and Derrick Foreman, Rochester; grandchildren: Alyssa Rennaker; Brittney Rennaker; Jacob Nevins; Mackenzie Nevins; Eli Foreman; Hannah Foreman; Candace Foreman; Kelsey Foreman; Kyra Foreman; Cody Hensley; and Jazmine Hensley; great grandchildren: Conner Nevins; Emery Rennaker; and Daxon Rennaker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers: Harold Pugh; and Jackson Pugh; and sister: Pauline Martin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester. A Masonic service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 9, also at the funeral home. Private interment will take place at Corinth Cemetery, Twelve Mile.
