Jane (Smith) Foellinger Miller
Jane (Smith) Foellinger Miller 93, Poway, California and formerly of Rochester, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Monday May 4, at her residence.
She was born on July 27, 1921 in Rochester, the daughter of Gerald Percy and Myra (Paramore) Smith. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1939 and attended Indiana University. On Jan. 11, 1941 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Robert J. Foellinger. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1960. On Oct. 25, 1961 in Rochester, Indiana, she married Cloyd E. “Mode” Miller. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1996.
Mrs. Miller had retired as Chairman of the Board of the First National Bank of Rochester. She had been a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority at Indiana University, former Treasurer of the Fulton County Salvation Army, Board of Directors for United Way of Fulton County, Tri Kappa, the Rochester Elks Lodge #2120 and the Moose Lodge #1107. She had attended the First Baptist Church of Rochester, Foursquare Church of Rochester, and the Heart of God of Rancho Bernardo, California. In her spare time she enjoyed, golf, bridge, car rides and sightseeing, Gospel music, and Turner Classic Movies.
Survivors include her children: Robert Brooks Foellinger, Indianapolis; David Bishop Foellinger, Lahaina, Hawaii; Julie (Alan) (Miller) Young, Poway, California; grandchildren: Robert Brooks Foellinger II, Louisville, Kentucky; Chelsey Reiko Young, Poway, California; Griffin Miller Young, Poway, California; and cousin: Marie Richmond Abbott, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, May 9, at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.
