Open House For Building Trades
An open house is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 22, for the Wawasee Area Career and Technical Cooperative building trades project house being built for Darin and Darcy Holsopple. The house, a joint effort between the Wawasee and Fairfield building trades programs, is located at 68928 CR 25, New Paris, Elkhart County.
It is a craftsman style home with a cottage flare. The two-story home is 2,500 square-feet with an unfinished basement. An archway front door leads into a grand entry with a two-story staircase.
The home has 2.5 baths, four bedrooms, an office and an open concept kitchen and living room with 15 foot vaulted ceilings. The mud room off the garage houses cubbies and the laundry room is conveniently placed on the second floor and attaches to the master bedroom. And the living room has a large fireplace complete with stone and shiplap details.
A few West Noble High School students also assisted with the project.
