Sentencings
The following individuals were recently sentenced in Kosciusko County Circuit, Superior I, II and III courts to serve jail time.
May 18
- Kyle Jay Shepherd, 21, 1840 S SR 25, Warsaw. Sentenced for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Shepherd was sentenced to the county jail for 60 days with 54 days suspended, on the stipulation he attend a session of the Victim’s Impact Panel, on a specified date, reimburse the county for the cost of his court appointed counsel, pay restitution to the prosecutor’s office for lab testing.with the remaining six days to be executed beginning on May 18.
- Bradley Ray Slone, 28, 302 E. North St., North Webster, sentenced for Count 1: maintaining a common nuisance and Count III: possession of two or more chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance. On Count 1 he was sentenced to one year in the county jail, with six days credit. Count III, he was sentenced to one year int he county jail with six days credit. The sentences will run concurrently. He was ordered to report to the county jail on May 18 to execute his sentence.
- Dakotah Cephus Shepherd, 22, 1522 Brookview Ave., Warsaw, sentenced for theft. Shepherd was sentenced to the county jail for 365 days with 359 days suspended to be placed on formal probation, with the balance of six days being served in the county jail to begin May 18.
May 17
- Sheri A. Courson, 53, Warner Drive, Claypool, sentenced for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She was given a sentence of 60 days in the county jail with 54 days suspended, and ordered to report to the county jail at 11:45 a.m. May 17, to execute the balance of six days.
May 16
- Addison Orlan McCann, 20, 3448 W. Doe Court, Warsaw, sentenced for possession of device to interfere with drug screening. He was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail, with 174 days suspended, and placed on probation. The balanced of six days were ordered to serve in the county jail starting at 5:30 p.m. May 16.
May 15
- Enrique Nunez Perez, 21, 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, sentenced for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail with all but 10 days suspended and a driver’s license suspension of 180 days. The sentencing is to run consecutive to charges of operating a vehicle while never licensed and possession of marijuana. On these charges he received a 60 day jail suspension on the operating a vehicle while never licensed, and a 180-day jail sentence suspension on the possession of marijuana.
- James R. Dawson, 35, 58 EMS R4C Lane, Pierceton, sentenced on two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Dawson received a one-year driver’s license suspension, retroactive to June 21, 2012, sentenced to the county jail for two years, with 1 1/2 years suspended to be served on probation, with the remaining six months served on home detention with a report date of May 15.
- Juan Carlos Ramirez-Rosas, 26, 1202 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, sentenced for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Ramirez-Rosas received a 90 days license suspension retroactive to the date of the probable cause finding, sentenced to 365 days in jail with 359 days suspended to be served on probation, with the remaining six days served in the count jail, beginning May 15. He was given credit for time served.
May 14
- Shandi Monique Taylor, 26, 411 N. Parker St., Warsaw, sentenced for failure to stop after an accident causing serious bodily injury. Taylor was sentenced on a probation violation and ordered to remain on probation for the remainder of her suspended sentence and ordered to report on May 14 to execute the underlying sentence being placed on home detention. She was initially sentenced to 2 years, with 1 1/2 years suspended with six months jail time, and placed on probation for 1 1/2 years.
- Mickey Lee Winn, 52, 3529 W. 100S, Warsaw, sentenced for Count I: operating while intoxicated schedule I, II controlled substance and Count II: driving while suspended. On Count 1, Winn received a 90 day driver’s license suspension, sentenced to 60 days in the county jail with 30 days suspended and placed on probation for 365 days and serve 30 days in the county jail reporting on May 14. Count II: received a 365 days jail suspension to be concurrent with Count 1.
