Mickey D. Eaton
Mickey D. Eaton, 84, Warsaw, formerly of Mentone, died at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 1, 1930, at Newcastle Township, Fulton County, to Devon and Lena (Mollenhour) Eaton.
On June 13, 1951, he married the girl of his dreams, Patricia Ballenger, in Denver, Colo., and she survives.
He was a 1948 graduate of Talma High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, spending time in Germany and honorably discharged as S/Sgt. He attended the Pleasant View Bible Church of Warsaw and previous attended the Riverview Community Church. In his retirement he enjoyed restoring old farm tractors on their farm near Mentone. He belonged to the Echoes of the Past Antique Tractor Club. Mickey was employed by Dean Foods Co. for over 37 years which took his family to four different states. He spent the last 23 years in Rockford, Ill. as Project Engineer.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia Eaton, Warsaw; son: Kevin (Debra) Eaton, Texas; three grandchildren: Joshua, Tricia; Jeramy; brother: Jerry (Barbara) Eaton, Rochester; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Larry and Diana Nellans, Ft. Myers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Carol Crawford; Son: Kim Eaton, on Dec. 27, 2006.
Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, May 22, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, also at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Rod Ruberg. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
