At 4:12 p.m. Thursday, May 21, emergency personnel responded to a report of an accident at the 2500 block of Center Street, near the intersection of Eastlake Drive.

Jacob A. Rude, 27, 11th Street, Rochester, had just turned on to Center Street from Eastlake Drive. He states he was in the left lane and turned his left turn signal on to turn across traffic into a parking lot.

Rude pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Mary L. Pratt, 54, Lake Street, Warsaw, resulting in a collision.

Rude stated that the driver of a stopped black Chevrolet motioned for him to execute his turn. Pratt stated that she only remembers traveling east on Center Street and a vehicle pulling in front of her.

Rude complained of head pain. He was treated and released by Multi-Township EMS at the scene. Pratt complained of pain in her lower right leg. She declined treatment at the scene but was later transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital to be seen by a doctor. Eva Pratt, 84, Lake Street, Laketon, a passenger in Mary Pratt’s vehicle, sustained a laceration on her forehead and her left eye was also injured.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Damages are estimated up to $10,000. Warsaw Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, and Multi-Township EMS assisted at the scene.
