West Leads Way In Whitko Win
SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko baseball team tuned up for postseason play by downing Bethany Christian 13-0 Monday in their regular-season finale.
Winning pitcher River West fired a two-hitter to pace the Wildcats in the five-inning win. He walked none and struck out six.
Whitko scored five runs in the first inning to tale control of the contest.
Riley Anderson went 2-3 with a home run and four RBI to pace the winning offense.
Tanner Gaff was 2-2 with two RBI and scored three runs for Whitko. Zach Snep was 2-3 with a double and an RBI.
Whitko will take a 20-8 record into sectional action. The Wildcats play Wawasee Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Class 3-A NorthWood Sectional.
