TVHS Announces Valedictorian, Salutatorian And Graduation Details
On behalf of Tippecanoe Valley High School it is our privilege to announce the 2015 valedictorian and salutatorian.
The TVHS valedictorian is Joshua Petgen, son of Ryan and Teresa Petgen. Joshua plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in either engineering design or pastoral ministry at Grace College in Winona Lake. After college he would like to either be a design consultant for an engineering firm or be involved in a church with pastoral ministry. For his senior year, Joshua interned at Norris Thermal Technologies in Tippecanoe, Indiana as a computer and design assistant and at Par-Kan Industries in Silver Lake, Indiana as an engineering intern.
The TVHS salutatorian is Raymond Jarvis, son of Raymond Jarvis and Donna Roop; grandchild of Foy and Teresa Banghart. Raymond plans to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in computer software engineering at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. Raymond plans to pursue a career in software engineering. Raymond was employed as the technology assistant for the Tippecanoe Valley High School technology department his senior year of high school.
Senior class officers are Jordan Fraser, president; Brandon Murphy, vice president; Milagro Smalley, secretary; Tenaya Shull, treasurer.
Upcoming senior events include the senior breakfast at 7:30 a.m. June 3 in the TVHS Commons; an awards ceremony at 8:30 a.m. June 3, in the TVHS main gym; baccalaureate at 2 p.m. June 7, in the main gym; and graduation at 2:45 p.m. June 7, in the main gym.
The 2015 class flower is the camellia and the class motto, a quote by Naeem Callaway, is “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step.” The class colors, chosen in honor of students who had passed away, are lime green and purple, the student’s favorite colors.
