Eagles Theatre Presents ‘Free Movie Mondays’
Monday, June 1 marks the beginning of the Fifth Annual “Free Movie Mondays” at the Eagles Theater. A total of nine different movies will be shown throughout the months of June and July taking place on Mondays with show times at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Why is it called “Free Movie Mondays? Because admission to these family-friendly movies is totally free to the public. In other words, you and your family can see all 9 movies at “zero” cost. If you are an avid movie-goer or have a lot of time on your hands, you can see all 9 movies at each of their four showings for a total of 36 movie-viewings — (approximately 15 hours) absolutely free. What better way to spend your summer?

The following movies will be shown during Free Movie Mondays:
- June 1 – “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” – Larry spans the globe, uniting favorite and new characters while embarking on an epic quest to save the magic before it is gone forever.
- June 8 – “The Book of Life” – Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart, embarks on an adventure that spans three fantastic worlds where he must face his greatest fears.
- June 15 – “Dolphin Tale 2” – The team of people who saved Winter’s life reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother’s passing in order to find her a companion.
June 22 – “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” – Alexander’s day begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by more calamities. However, he finds little sympathy from his family and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him, his mom, dad, brother and sister – who all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. - June 29 – “Despicable Me” – When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better.
- July 6 – “Despicable Me 2” – When Gru, the world’s most super-bad turned super-dad has been recruited by a team of officials to stop lethal muscle and a host of Gru’s own, He has to fight back with new gadgetry, cars, and more minion madness.
- July 13 – “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water” – When a diabolical pirate above the sea steals the secret Krabby Patty formula, SpongeBob and his nemesis Plankton must team up in order to get it back.
- July 20 – “Hook” – When Captain Hook kidnaps his children, an adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit in order to challenge his old enemy.
- July 27 – “Bears” – A documentary that follows an Alaskan bear family as its young cubs are taught life’s most important lessons.
