Emergency personnel responded to an accident involving a buggy and vehicle on CR 1350N and CR 300W at 8:33 a.m. today.

According to Sgt. Chad Hill, public information officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, officers and emergency personnel arrived to discover a buggy had been struck from behind, causing severe damage. The buggy was found laying in a ditch area.

KCSD Deputies located the driver of the truck, Jeffery D. Lanning, 25, Bremen, who stated he had been traveling westbound on CR 1350N and was distracted. He stated he did not see the buggy until the last minute, striking it at normal road speed.

The buggy was operated by Diane Borkholder, 29, New paris. Police report she and her three children (ages newborn, 2 and 4) were all transported to Goshen General Hospital with minor injuries by Multi-Township EMS from Milford.
