Sentencings
The following persons were recently sentenced in a Kosciusko County Court to serve jail time:
June 1
Ty Ronald Shepler, 46, 625 Logan Street, Warsaw, sentenced for theft. He was sentenced on March 30, on a lessor charge of conversion, a class A misdemeanor, to 365 days in the county jail with 325 days suspended, with the remaining 40 days to be served in the county jail starting June 1. He was given one year probation. Participation in work release was approved if qualified.
May 29
Jose Luis Vega-Nunez, 21, 1692 E. 200N, Warsaw, sentenced for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. On May 20, he received a 90 days driver’s license suspension retroactive to the date of the probable cause finding, sentenced to 365 days with 360 days suspended and served on probation. He was ordered to pay restitution to Kosciusko REMC in the amount of $3,624.79. He was ordered to report to the county jail to serve the remaining five days on May 29. A charge of illegal consumption of alcohol was dismissed.
*Dario Prout LaGorio, 21, 1224 Windsor Way, Warsaw, sentenced for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. On May 29 he received a 90 day driver’s license suspension retroactive to the date of the probable cause finding, sentenced to the county jail for 60 days with 54 days suspended and the balance of four days served in the county jail.
May 28
Alejandro Miguel Gonzalez, 33, 409 Mineral Springs Ave., Winona Lake, sentenced on three cases of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. On May 28 he was sentenced on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement. For operating a vehicle while intoxicated he was give a one-year suspension of his driver’s license, sentenced to 18 months in the county jail with 12 months suspended to be served on probation, serving six months in jail with no objection to serving on the work releae program. On the charge of resisting law enforcement he received a driver’s lisense suspension for 180 days to run concurrent with the suspension on operating a vehicle while intoxicated, sentenced to six months in jail, to run concurrent with the OWI charge. On May 14 he was sentenced for possession of marijuana, receiving a 365 day jail sentenced with 95 days suspended and the remaining 270 days served in jail. Charges of OWI, leaving the scene of an accident and OWI with a controlled substance were dismissed. Also on May 14 he was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail on a charge of OWI, and ordered to report to the jail on May 24.
Joseph Tyler Feldman, 29, 20 EMS B31 Lane, Warsaw, sentenced for probation violation. Having his probation revoked, he was ordered to serve 180 days in the county jail, to be served consecutive to another case. He was ordered to report to the jail on May 28.
May 27
Levi Allen Wolfe, 0, 1518 High St., Logansport, sentenced for dealing a synthetic drug. On May 18 he was sentenced for dealing a synthetic drug look-a-like substance, to 1 1/2 years at the Indiana Department of corrections, suspended with the first six months of the suspended sentenced to be served in the Kosciusko County Jail, receiving credit for 46 days. The final year of the suspended sentence be served on probation. He was ordered to report to the county jail on May 27. The sentence may be served on work release or the Cass County Community Corrections Detention or Work Release Program if qualified.
Melanie Nicole Scott, 24, 7696 E. Vawter Park Road, Syracuse, sentenced for criminal mischief and criminal conversion. On the criminal mischief charge she was sentenced on May 27 to 180 days in the county jail with 165 days suspended to be served on probation. She was ordered not to set foot on the property of the Marathon Gas Station and pay restitution. The balance of 15 days were ordered to be served in the county jail. On the criminal conversion charge she was sentenced to the county jail for 365 days with 345 days suspended and placed on probation for 345 days. The balance of 20 days of her sentence is to be served in the county jail. The two probation periods are to be served consecutively, one after the other. Charges of disorderly conduct and battery were dismissed.
Wade Andrew Beck, 19, 305 E. Front St., South Whitley, sentenced on probation violation. On May 18 his probation was revoked and ordered to spend 120 days of the original incarceration term in the county jail. He was ordered to report to the county jail on May 27. He was given jail time and good time credit for one day. Participation in work release was approved if qualified.
May 22
Johnathan Tyler Paul Mallery, 26, 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, sentenced on two counts of battery. He was sentenced on May 22 he was sentenced on count 1, battery to a law enforcement officer, to 1 1/2 years with one year suspended to be served on probation. He was ordered to be incarcerated in the county jail for the remaining 180 days. Court 4 of battery causing bodily injury carried a sentence of one year in the county jail with 180 days suspended to be served on probation to run concurrent with Count 1. The balance of 180 days will be served in the county jail to run concurrent with Count 1. Two charges of resisting law enforcement were dismissed.
