Singrey Takes Hoops Job At Heritage
MONROEVILLE – Former Wawasee High School assistant basketball coach Barry Singrey has taken the head coaching basketball job at Heritage High School.
Singrey, a 2007 Wawasee graduate, was part of the Wawasee High School basketball staff for four seasons. Singrey coached the freshman team with former head coach Phil Mishler for two seasons and moved to junior varsity coach for the last two seasons with current basketball coach Steve Wiktorowski. This will be Singrey’s first varsity head coaching position.
Singrey played basketball at Wawasee for four seasons and was part of the Warrior teams that reached the semi-state in 2004-05 and the regional finals in 2005-06. Singrey played a total of 49 games for Mishler in his varsity career.
At Heritage, Singrey will replace Brad Keiss, who guided the Patriots to a 34-42 mark in four seasons. The Patriots, a Class 3-A basketball team located southeast of Fort Wayne, last had a winning record in the 2008-09 season.
