Columbus Shepherd
Columbus Shepherd of Warsaw, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at his residence at the age of 71.
He was born on August 23, 1943 in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Mortie Shepherd and Lola (Allen) Shepherd.
On June 11, 1966, he was married in Warsaw, to Janet Sue (Templeton) Shepherd, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, since 1963 where he worked for 38 years for Dalton Foundries of Warsaw retiring in 2010. While at Dalton’s he worked in maintenance and tool repair. Columbus also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Columbus will be lovingly remembered by his son: Todd Shepherd; daughter: Lana (husband Toby) Farling; and two granddaughters: Courtney and Chelsey Farling, all of Warsaw. He also leaves behind three sisters: Irene Manns, Claypool; Madeline Hopkins, Warsaw; and Opal Arnett, Claypool; two brothers: Edgal Shepherd, Prestonsburg, Ky., and Lewis Wedstel (wife Pat) Shepherd, Claypool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Ruby Crothers and Vina Dotson.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral and officiated by Chaplain Doug West. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
