Wagon Wheel Workshop Presenting ‘The Pajama Game’
Musical Theatre Workshop participants are proud to present their rendition of the Tony Award-winning musical “The Pajama Game.”
Workers at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, pressing for a 7.5 cent raise, are moving closer to a strike. Add a budding romance between the new factory superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and head of the grievance committee, Babe Williams, and things are bound to get complicated! Sounds dire, but plenty of laughs are guaranteed.
“The Pajama Game” – book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell; music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross – is based on the novel “7½ Cents” by Richard Bissell. This classic example of musical comedy premiered on Broadway in 1954. Wagon Wheel’s production is directed by Andy Robinson, Kira Lace Hawkins, Kristen Yasenchak and Alyssa Kay Thompson and showcases the talents of participants in the Musical Theatre Workshop for grades 8-12.
The Pajama Game will be performed one time only: 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts box office or online at wagonwheelcenter.org.
