Viola M. Stein
Viola M. Stein, 88, of Mentone, and formerly of Columbus, Ohio, died at 2:20 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, at the home of her granddaughter Kimber Lee and grandson Kerry Goshert.
She was born April 14, 1927, in Point Pleasant, Ohio, to Nial B. and Goldie (Holly) Scott and stepmother Ethel Scott.
Viola married Paul W. Stein Sr. in 1971, in Whitehall, Ohio, and was married for 40 years before he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2011. She retired as head custodian from Worthington Kilbourne High School in Worthington, Ohio, where she had served for 30 years. She attended Meadowpark Church of God on Bethel Road Columbus, Ohio with her husband Paul. She always enjoyed cake decorating and spending time with her family being a loving Mother and Grandmother.
She is survived by her son: David E. (Franziska) Watrus Jr., El Paso, Texas; Charles B. Watrus, Litchfield, Ohio; Richard Allen (Sandra) Watrus, Logan, Ohio; and Nial Russell (Becky) Watrus, Fredricksburg, Va.; daughters: Carolyn Lee (Dale) Bing, Bonita Springs, Fla.; Sherri (Thomas) Albrecht, Naperville, Ill.; stepchildren: Phyllis A. (Robert) Robinson; Cecelia A. Stein; Paula L. (Joseph) Harper; and Paul (Billy) Stein Jr.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Viola is preceded in death by her husband: Paul W. Stein Sr., on Dec. 2, 2011; daughter: Karen Elaine Watrus; daughter-in-law: Rose Watrus; great-grandson: Taylor D. Malcolm; sisters: Wilda (Harold) Meadows; Pauline (Roy) Vine; Hazel (Thomas) Cuckler; Inez (Leo) Cloutier; brothers: Stanley (Elizabeth) Scott; and Millard (Eileen) Scott; half-sister: Gladis Wacker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, at Oak Grove Community Church, Winona Lake, officiated by Pastor Doug Lemon. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Union Cemetery Chapel, Columbus, Ohio.
