Flood Warning Issued For Kosciusko County
The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a flood warning for Northwestern Kosciusko County from 8:09 p.m., Monday until Tuesday at 6:45 a.m.
Heavy thunderstorms have been located. Up to three inches of rain has already fallen this afternoon in some areas and an additional one to two inches likely through midnight.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, and highways and underpasses in urban areas. Additionally, country roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks, streams and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.
Be cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Move up to higher ground to escape flood waters.
Locations that will experience flooding include: Plymouth, Nappanee, Bremen, Knox, Bourbon, Milford, Culver, Winona, Wanatah, Hamlet, Lacrosse, Koontz Lake, Oake Grove, Hannah, La Paz, San Pierre, Toto, Lake of the Woods and Hibbard.
