Every child will feel like a super hero playing Super Hero Bingo 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17. The whole family will have fun playing Bingo using cards with super heroes on them. We have prizes galore with lots of chances to win, so every child goes home with a prize. This is a Summer Reading Program event, so bring along your child’s reading passport to get stamped for extra reading credit. If they aren’t signed up for the Summer Reading Program, you can enroll them at the Youth Services Desk. We have Summer Reading Clubs for infants through high school students. There is no registration deadline, but the sooner they sign up the sooner they can start earning prizes.
The teens will have their own super hero game 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, when they play Super Hero Jeopardy and learn to make hero sandwiches. It will be a time of yum and fun for youth in grades 6-12.
All teens are invited to participate.
Earlier in the day on Thursday the therapy dog Echo will be at the library 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. eager for kids to read to her. Children, ages 5-12, can schedule a 15-minute reading session with this lovable canine friend. Only four sessions are available each week by appointment only, so sign up early to secure a reading time.
Make It/Take It Craft Day will be Friday, June 19. Throughout the day, children can stop by the Youth Department to make a puppet or bookmark craft or they can take it home to complete.
Show your patriotism by making a decorative patriotic wreath at the Wreath Workshop 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, June 20, at the library. The workshop is co-sponsored with the North Webster Community Center and costs $20 which includes all materials and supplies. Pre-registration is required. Sign up and pay at the Community Center office.
No internet at the lake cottage? Stop in the library to use our free WiFi or internet-connected public computers. You don’t even need a library card. However, many summer residents qualify for a free card or can use their Evergreen card from their home libraries. Enjoy the lake and stay connected at the library.
