John Crawford
John Crawford, 82, passed away at noon Friday, June 19, 2015, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
John was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Gallipolis, Ohio to Robert and Ethel (Shoemaker) Crawford. He was married to Sharon Smith who preceded him in death. John was a janitor for Wabash Valley and was a real people person who loved joking around. He also loved to walk and dance.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Robert “Dean” (Cindy) Crawford; and a daughter and son-in-law: Cathy (Mike) Shilling, all of Pierceton. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his first wife: Oma Hall, who passed away Dec. 15, 2011; his second wife: Sharon; daughter: Judy C. Amburgey, Oct. 7, 1999; and son: Ricky Crawford, on April 30, 2010.
Family and friends will gather at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, for time of sharing in support of one another from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, June 22. A service celebrating the life of John Crawford will begin at 3 p.m.Tuesday, June 23 in the funeral home. Rev. Henry “Junior” Arnett of Water of Life Church in Silver Lake, will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in John’s memory be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in his memory.
