Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:23 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, East CR 700N, east of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Drivers: Jim W. McLean, 81, EMS T6A Lane, Leesburg, and Kelly L. Butler, 39, East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. McLean, who suffered an abrasion to the face, and his passenger, Sandra S. McLean, 80, EMS T6A Lane, Leesburg, who suffered minor bleeding to the face, were taken to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. McLean failed to stop at the intersection, causing the Butler vehicle to strike his vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
5:37 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, East CR 700N and North CR 200E, Leesburg. Drivers: Timothy J. Cramer, 18, South Manor Drive, Syracuse, and Christine L. Kistler, 39, East CR 800N, North Webster. Cramer complained of pain to the chest, but was not transported to a hospital. Cramer failed to see the Kistler vehicle before entering the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
5:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, South Country Club Road and East CR 300S, Warsaw. Drivers: George L. Robertson, 67, Crestlane Drive, Warsaw, and Larry D. Hapner, 32, South CR 300E, Claypool. Robertson failed to see the Hapner vehicle before entering the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
4:23 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, South CR 200W, north of West CR 950S, Silver Lake. Driver: Richard G. Wagoner, 75, South CR 100W, Claypool. Wagoner suffered minor bleeding to the elbow/lower arm. He was not transported to a hospital. Wagoner stated he fell asleep causing his vehicle to go off the road, hitting a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
4:06 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, East US 30, east of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Drivers: Teresa J. Wilson, 45, South East Street, North Webster, and Lori A. Dollarhide, 39, Baer Road, Fort Wayne. Wilson was crossing US 30 and failed to see the Dollarhide vehicle which was ready to turn northbound across US 30, from the eastbound side. Damage up to $5,000.
7:39 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, East Armstrong Road, east of North CR 75E, Leesburg. Driver: Ulises A. Argumedo, 18, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Argumedo was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital after he complained of pain to the chest. Argumedo lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, hitting the guide wire of one NIPSCO pole and then struck another pole, breaking the pole. Damage up to $25,000.
3:58 p.m. Monday, June 29, East Hatchery Road and North Eagle Trail, Syracuse. Driver: Robert T. Hosmer, 25, Detroit Road, Niles, Mich. To avoid hitting another vehicle in his lane of travel while rounding a curve, Hosmer drove his vehicle off the road, hitting a telephone pole. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:28 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, Jalynn Street and Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Hunter J. Newlin, 16, North Nash Drive, Syracuse, and Mark E. Messenger, 47, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Messenger suffered a contusion/bruise to his elbow/lower arm. A passenger on Messenger’s motorcycle, Deborah S. Messenger, 49, East Fort Wayne Street, complained of pain to the head. The Messengers were wearing helmets and leather clothing. Both refused transportation to the hospital. Newlin turned his vehicle in front of the Messenger driven motorcycle. Damage up to $50,000.
12:58 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, Eastlake Drive, south of Frontage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Kaitlin Jones, 14, South Ulrey Road, North Manchester, and Michael A. Shearer, 55, Country Club Drive, Warsaw. Jones was eastbound on Eastlake Drive, approaching the stop sign, when her brakes failed, swerving at the last moment to avoid a direct collision with the Shearer vehicle. Police note Jones has never had a license or a permit, nor has she had any driver training. Damage up to $2,500.
7:04 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, East Bell Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Judy D. Metzger, 67, Ranch Road, Warsaw, and Seth A. Syndram, 19, East CR 400S, Warsaw. Metzger was backing from a parking space and did not see Syndram’s vehicle being driven through the parking lot. Damage up to $2,500.
12:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 900 block Logan Street, Warsaw. Driver: Corinna J. Good, 16, Highlander Drive, Warsaw. Good’s vehicle went off the road and struck a stop sign. Damage up to $25,000.
9:15 a.m. Monday, June 29, North Parker Street, south of Husky Trail, Warsaw. Drivers: Codi M. Henline, 20, California Avenue, Fort Wayne, and Austin K. Fisher, 21, Pinepark Pass, New Haven. Henline’s vehicle struck the back of the Fisher vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
