Join The ‘Bug Catch’ Saturday Morning
Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation’s annual Water Bug Catch will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at the WACF Levinson-LaBrosse Lakes and Wetlands Education Center, Syracuse. The bug catch is the second in the WACF Lake Talk and Eats program during the summer.
This is one of the most popular events of the summer. The event is free and open to any age level. Many parents bring their children, and grandparents bring their grandchildren for a fun, yet educational event. Last year over 100 participated. The event keeps growing each year.
Nancy Brown, certified Hoosier Riverwatch trainer, will lead kids of all ages, parents and grandparents into the water to locate and identify aquatic critters and learn why they are so important to the water quality of the lake.
This is a free special event and something the kids talk about all year long.
Bring water shoes and share a different weekend water experience. If you have any type of bug catching net, it is advisable to bring one along. There will be some nets available There will be a light breakfast available.
The WACF center is locate at 11586 N. SR 13, three miles south of Syracuse.
